This week

Good afternoon, I hope all the children have had a good break and are refreshed and ready for another busy term. Clubs: Tuesday Pupil Voice Committee Friday Cybercoach Dance (8.00am) From next week, Sturton Striders will change to a Monday afternoon. On a Tuesday there will be a basketball club run by Mr. Cannon. This is initially open to Y5/6 only, but depending on numbers, will then open up to other year groups. Please inform the school office or reply to this email if you would like your child to attend basketball club. Pupil Voice Committee will continue on a Tuesday as normal. Trumpet and guitar are on Tuesday. Violins are on Wednesday. The children in Year 6 will be having extra SATs input on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon for the next three weeks with Miss Rowbottom and myself. Class 3 start their Drug Awareness Resistance Education (DARE) this Wednesday afternoon with a qualified DARE Officer. This runs for 1 hour a week for 10 weeks and supports the children in making the right choices to stay safe and healthy. At the end of the programme there will be a presentation by the class to parents. The library van is at school on Thursday afternoon. The children in Class 2 will be attending the Lynx Black Belt Academy in Retford on Friday morning for a free taster session. This is arranged as part of a programme in the build up to the Rio Olympics. The children will be travelling by school minibus and should come to school in PE kits with joggers please. They will be back at school for normal lunchtime. Swimming continues for the children in ear 2, 3 & 4 on Friday. Please remember that school lunch prices have increased to £2.22 per day, £11.10 a week. We are hoping for good weather next Sunday at the Sturton Stride. Numbers will be given out this week if you have not received them in the post already. Even if you are not running, please come along and support the runners and see the attractions on the school field at the finish. See you in the morning.
