New term

Good afternoon, I hope you have all had a good summer. We are looking forward to seeing the children back to school tomorrow. We have four children starting with us who live in the village, Sophia Learoyd (F1), Archie Ruck (Y1), Milo Chaplow (Y1) and Elijah Chaplow (Y3), I look forward to welcoming them to school. For your convenience, we have installed a 'Quick Drop' post box outside the school office to save queuing when returning dinner money/letters etc. It can be found on the wall next to Mrs. Gibson's classroom. Please make sure any money is in a named envelope, there are envelopes available. I am aware that the school office does get busy in a morning and I hope this will help. The doors open as normal at 8.40am with Classes 1, 2 & 3 starting registration at 8.50am. The Foundation door opens at 8.45am with registration starting at 9.00am. Please help us by making sure your children are in class promptly. Some clubs will begin next week. Football will be on a Monday evening until 4.30pm. I will alternate the club between, Y1/2/3 and Y4/5/6. The children who attend the Y4/5/6 training will also be involved in some of the league and cup matches. The clubs are open to both girls and boys. Y1/2/3 - 14th Sept, 28th Sept, 19th Oct, 9th Nov, 23rd Nov, 7th Dec Y4/5/6 - 7th Sept, 21st Sept, 12th Oct, 2nd Nov, 16th Nov, 30th Nov Tuesday will be the Pupil Voice Committee run in partnership between Mrs. Ledsham and Miss Rowbottom. Finishes at 4.30pm. Thursday lunchtime will be Hi 5 (girls only). Friday evening is Sturton Striders Fitness. This is open to all children from Y1 to Y6 and is focussed on running and fitness. We run in all weather, rain or shine! The club finishes at 4.15pm. Due to university visits however, I will be unable to run the club on Friday 18th September, 2nd October and 16th October. Guitar and trumpet lessons will be on a Tuesday morning. Violin will be on a Wednesday morning. The parent meeting for the Kingswood Residential takes place at 6.00pm on Monday evening. This will be an opportunity to hear about the arrangements, equipment required and ask any questions you may have. A booklet will be provided with the information. The meeting will last no longer than 45mins. I will be around afterwards to answer and specific questions. See you in the morning.
