Update

Good morning,

You will have heard the announcement from Boris Johnson about schools not re-opening until at least 8th March. We have no further information about this and hope that we can begin to successfully reopen from then, but that will depend on guidance from the DFE.

The staff have started their regular Lateral Flow Tests this week. All adults in school take a test twice a week and reported to NHS Track and Trace as well as being recorded in school. This will be another part of the fight to track transmission and break the chain.

There will be slight changes to some class timetables next week, particularly for Class 1. As we continue to refine our remote learning we are introducing our intervention work with some children. It is very important that children attend the live sessions as per their timetable. If they do not attend, they will miss key learning that is crucial to their work. I am pleased to say that the vast majority of children join at the correct times and do not miss any sessions. I appreciate how challenging remote learning is for everyone at home, the delivery of our remote learning is there to ensure that the children are all still making progress even whilst we are in this period of school closure.  I once again thank you all for your terrific efforts at home in this difficult time. I am also very grateful for the quality of provision that the staff team are delivering for all children, both in school and at home.

Work packs will be available to collect from late on Friday afternoon, I will email out when they are ready. I continue to be impressed with the work the children are doing and how they engage in the teaching activities, well done everyone.

The February half term holiday will still happen and school will not be open to children of Critical Workers.

I look forward to seeing as many as possible in Merits tomorrow at 9.30am.

Regards

Mark
