This week

Good afternoon,

As we look to the first full week of remote learning, I want to start by saying a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in this, pupils, staff and parents, there is a huge ask on everyone to work in this new and challenging way. I appreciate the difficulties and challenges and will be here to do all that I can to support you all. I have been so impressed this week with seeing the children accessing the remote teaching both at home and for those Critical Worker children in school, I never get sick of saying how proud I am of them all, they are a credit to you. I am incredibly proud of the staff team too, everyone is playing their part, and then some, in order to make this situation work.

As we begin next week, the timetables and remote working will start to take off. The staff are quite anxious about this and want to do the best they possibly can. The use of the technology to ensure this happens is being well used and it is testament to each and everyone in the school community both at school and home, that they are harnessing this and using it in a powerful way.

There are one or two things I think that children at home must realise about the remote learning. The ability to contact teachers directly through Stream or Meet is very powerful and so simple. Teachers will be available throughout the day even when direct teaching to the class is not happening. However, if you post in the Stream you may not get an immediate message reply because the teacher may be meeting another child, teaching a small group or providing 1:1 support. The teacher will reply when they are back from the other task, posts will all be replied to. If there is something that needs sorting quickly, then please contact school. Please do not message teachers outside of the school day 9.00 – 3.30pm on Stream.

Work can be returned to the box outside school, this will be returned in due course or feedback may be provided privately to the individual child using GC, it will not be open for all to see.

Monday will be book change day for Class 1. The reading book boxes will be available at the front of school. There will be a quarantine box as well as a hand sanitising station.

The Worships next week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 3.00pm will have a link on Stream as well as being emailed to parents. The Merits on Friday will also be posted on Stream as well as emailed.

I will keep you updated throughout the week and we hope that all goes well for everyone.

Have a safe and quiet weekend and I look forward to seeing lots of you either in person or virtually next week.

Regards

Mark
