This week

Good afternoon,

It has been great having more children back in school this week, it may only be 31 of the whole school, but it has been lovely welcoming them back. I am so very impressed with their attitude to the changes that they have come across in school, they are a credit to themselves and to you as parents. They enter with a smile and leave with a smile too. I am sure they will be tired and ready for a restful weekend.

I would also like to thank the staff for the way they have dealt with the changed way of working and the expectations placed upon them, I really am privileged to work with such a caring and loving team.

Today I was asked by the Class 3 ‘bubble’ if ‘dress down Friday’ could be every week, I have said yes, so every Friday between now and the end of term is ‘dress down Friday’.

As you know, the Government have removed the expectation that children should return to school before the summer break. We at Sturton are determined to offer as many places as possible (within the guidance), to children who want to come back to school. I have been in many phone and Zoom chats over the past few days with parents who had questions about what school is now like. I hope I have eased their fears. Today I will have final numbers and so the ‘bubbles’ can be confirmed and finalised. There will be no opportunity to change a decision after today.

Early next week I will be sending out details of the extended provision and how that will work.

I thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.

I hope you all have a good weekend in this sunny June, and I will be in touch next week with more details.

Regards

Mark
